What is EM?
EM® stands for Effective Microorganisms®, a brand name referring to a family of microbial-based products using a technology developed by Japanese scientist Dr. Teruo Higa. The main product, EM·1®, is a liquid bacterial product comprising three groups of microbes: Yeast, Photosynthetic Bacteria, and Lactic Acid Bacteria. EM·1® works together with local and native beneficial microbes, creating a synergy among microorganisms and larger forms of life including insects and worms, pets and livestock, and people. All products using EM Technology® contain EM·1® in some part of their manufacturing process.

How they WorkEM™ (Effective Microorganism) ceramics emit far infrared waves, the longest rays in the light spectrum. This wavelength is highly compatible with human and animal tissue. The body can absorb them easily at depths up to 3 inches, where they can do lots of good work. Far Infrared waves remove blood cell clusters which improves blood circulation. Because the infrared rays penetrate the tissue, they work deep into body tissue, not just on the surface of the skin.
This improved and balanced environment in your dog (created by EM) can help keep ticks from attaching to your dog. EM™ ceramics are made by fermenting a special clay with approximately 80 different microorganisms (EM) and then baked. The pipes are baked at 1200 C, due to the fact that in the baking process the structure of the clay changes, trapping the EM within its matrix. As a result, these EM pipes exert their influence purely through their physical properties and remain effective for a long time. An EM™ Tick Collar can be an effective natural tick repellent without side effects. This makes it safe for dogs with allergies and sensitivities. However, there is no 100% guarantee EM collars nor any other tick product will keep ticks off of our furry friends! The best prevention is to avoid known tick areas, and check your dog AND yourself for ticks after every nature walk. EM ceramics are safe if you have children in your household. Please note that this product does not come with a guarantee of its effectiveness, it is a natural product that uses no chemicals. Tick populations and activity vary according to region and season. |
Care Instructions:
You will get the best results if your dog wears the collar at all times. It can take up to 4 weeks for the EMs to be fully effective.
You must activate the collar when you get it. Soak the collar thoroughly under clean tap water for 30 minutes and let it dry in the sun about every 2-3 weeks, and the fist time you use it. DO NOT USE SOAP OR OTHER CHEMICALS! It is very important to keep the pipes clean. You can use a soft nail brush or toothbrush to clean them.
If you are using essential oils or bug spray in addition to the EM Collar, make sure the EM ceramic pipes stay oil/fat free.
Swimming with the EM collar is no problem, just let it dry in the sun afterwards. It must NOT to be used in Pool water with bleach or other chemicals in it.
It is recommended to replace the EM collar every year.
Don't forget to renew your collar by soaking it and drying in sunlight every 2-3 weeks to maintain it's optimal effectiveness! I suggest putting a reminder in your calendar.

How to Measure:
Use a fabric measuring tape with a hand of extra space inside and measure the length needed like the picture below. Alternately, if you don't have a fabric measuring tape you can use a piece of string to get the correct length, and then measure the length of the string with a measuring tape. Measuring the length of your collar will not give an accurate length since the inside measurement is needed.

Your collar will also have extra room for adjustment, and to easily get it on and off. The cobra weave is quite a bit thicker than the braid, I recommend choosing the braided style for small dogs and dog with thin necks. |
